Yesterday I got me some delicious Mexican food from Taqueria Cancun. I stared at the bright yellow menu deciding what I wanted and preparing to break out my newly refreshed level 1 Spanish. My heart started to flutter as I stepped up and looked at the man behind the counter. I panicked…

It’s embarrassing that I’m so nervous to break out Spanish that I can’t even order a couple tacos. I feel like I need to warn the other person about my terrible Spanish. In that vain, I’ve decided to try out a Language Exchange. That way, the person on the other end knows I’m terrible already.

I’m going to try out these 3:

  • Lexody - Online community that helps connect language learners in the same city

  • Tandom App - iPhone app that connects you to language learners around the world
